romeo blinked blearily, craning his neck in order to get a good look at the cloud-covered sky. a chill was settled over the area, one that caused his exhaled breaths to transform into a cloud when they brushed against the outside airs. he despised winter. it caused supply shortages and often snipped away at the population, leaving the sickly and poor to wither away alongside the plant life. making sure his scarf was secured around his neck and his lower face was shielded from bitter winds he moved within the confines of the simple town. having decided to take a moment of leave from his job he went about going into neutral land in hopes of seeing something relatively new.
"fuck, it's cold."
a pity that he couldn't leave behind the cold. but, it was here - and here it would stay 'till the warmer seasons shifted their way. it was a blessing that he hadn't been struck by a sudden head cold, a sore throat or anything of the sort. for now he was free of any form of sickness and took the occasional pill to strengthen up his immune system in hopes of avoiding it. during his stay here he mostly indulged in take out or restaurants, deciding to spend some of the cash he earned in order to gain some new form of cuisine on a day-to-day bases. romeo's pockets were a bit lighter now as a result, but, at least he was often left satisfied. he decided on something as simple as hamburgers and fries with packets of ketchup accompanying the styrofoam container.
with his meal secured within the confines of a flimsy plastic bag and his glove-less hands stuffed into his pockets he made his way through the sparsely populated streets. the inn here was decent enough. the building was warm and the staff were competent - so he didn't have too many complaints. plus, it was pleasantly cheap. as he walked, no one in particular caught his eye. all were ordinary and plain and boring. so, when something did indeed capture his attention he came to a sluggish halt, eyes widening slightly. a mane of vibrant green came into view - that - coupled by a lithe form - urged him to approach. perhaps he should? he was openly staring, after all.
"huh."
he licked his lips.

Now I know what I believe inside. Now, it's my time. I'll do what I want 'cause this is my life. here, right now. I'll stand my ground and never back down. I know what I believe inside. I'm awake and I'm alive. ahh, odale. a quite, cozy place where everything was nice and it had the subtle hint of sea to remind her she wasn't that far from home, juliet loved it--- oh, who was she kidding? she had never set foot in this place her whole life. with a tilted black beanie and her glasses hanging from her sweater, she looked like the epitome of a hipster tourist trying to fit in. in other words, she sucked at this. her hand went to steady her beanie as some black haired boy passed her, she was too busy looking around that she almost didn't see him until she realized he was practically gawking. well, that was nothing new. usually her brother would have been done hounding his ass by now, but these days she found herself quite alone in that department. he had stopped walking to stare at her, and she was slowly down, following him with her eyes even as she walked past. it was then that he licked his lips and juliet became unduly aware of the fact that she was alone on the road. she felt like gagging. but, for some reason, the male looked almost pitiably desperate. she offered him a shy wink (really, she was new to this), and quickly turned away, walking fast to see if he'd catch up to her. she was smirking despite herself. ▇ ROMEO RICHARDSON ▇ casual wink MADE BY ★MEULK

romeo felt his heart immediately skip a beat as she shifted her gaze in his general direction and responded to his obvious interest positively enough. instantly, he wanted nothing more than to pursue the female in hopes of attracting her attention somehow. call it instinct, but something deep within the confines of his mind considered her absolutely perfect. and once that clicked romeo turned to watch her pass him, standing there with a wide-eyed expression upon his face before he quickly put his legs to work.
"w -"
the young man licked his lips, mouth suddenly dry as he struggled to catch up with her at first. he awkwardly rasped out before clearing up his voice with a quiet grunt.
"wait! baby," he said, his tone nearly pleading.
romeo found herself staring at her mane of bouncy green hair, and he wanted nothing more than to see that face turn in his direction so that he could bear witness to those eyes. he grinned like an idiot, a small bounce in his step as he began to follow her, his future meal forgotten.
"whoa - whoa - come talk ta me, yeah?"
as he spoke he grew more confident, working to mimic her pace so that he was walking along her side.
"yer lookin' real pretty today. come speak with me for a bit?"
eyes gleaming with anticipation and cheeks slightly flushed, romeo appeared all-too desperate to shift the woman's focus somehow. his posturing remained relaxed, yet he still felt a smidgen of nervousness that he refused to let bubble to the surface. unwilling to let her go so easily, he decided to speak his name first.
"name's romeo, babe. nice ta meet ya, yeah?"
the magma grunt offered his hand for a shake, hoping that his palms weren't the least bit sweaty.
"what's - ah - yers?"

[attr="class","atar"] that wink had been terrible, but for some reason, odd or not, she found herself wonderinf if the guy was going to run after her or not. as usual, she was unable to battle her curiosity, and so she turned to look- thankfully at the exact same time that the male called out. her green eyes looked over him curiously- shocked a little at the sudden...the sudden what?
wind, maybe. it really was in her face now- blowing her hair from right under her beanie. but the dazed, girlish expression faded away to a grin. the male seemed a little thirsty, and it was kind of funny to see a boy getting strangely worked up over her. the only male she'd known very closely was her brother, so she was used to prick-like attitudes. this was a comical contrast.
the man started walking beside her. she put up a hand. "hello," she said, her voice even and calm like it usually was. but he was smiling like she was concealing something, like she was about to laugh at the man- a grin crawling its way up her lips. "why thank you," she said , smirking as she looked back at the male as she witheld a compliment of her own.
but then the cool smirking girl thing just died a little as he said those words. she stopped in the middle of the street and her cool smile broke way for a howling fit of laughter. what on earth? his name was romeo? god that was the worst pickup line juliet had ever heard.
"wh-whaahaha...what, where'd you see my name? how'd you do that?" she shook her head at the stranger, looking around for a name tag on her or something that could of given her away. but then, looking at him and looking at herself she realized he was serious. "eh?!"
she flashed him an awkward grin and then outstretched her hand. "well, this must be fate. i'm juliet."
