vendetta follows a completely free form method of battling. this means that we do not encourage or expect the use of damage calculators, nor to we expect the battles to go exactly as they do in pokemon games. in fact, we would like to take a step back from the system and state that no pokemon is definitely weaker or stronger than any other -- what does this mean? it means that all pokemon at the same evolution stage or level are weaker or stronger than any other pokemon. a bidoof and a larvesta are of equal strength in the beginning. similarly, a volcarona and a bibabarel both at level 100 are also at the same strength.
[break][break] however, it's important to keep in mind of a pokemon's special attack, special defense, attack and defense. the most important thing in statless battling is the pokemon's level, its type, and the move it is using. we would like you to use a max of two moves or actions per turn, but if you think you've used agility enough times to be granted another move, or maybe the right to dodge twice? go ahead. just remember that mission threads in vendetta happen a little differently than usual. [break][break]
the HP bars are entirely staff-controlled. you will not be allowed to make changes to your HP. hp is reduced on the basis of taken damage, fatigue, and exertion. fatigue is how tired your character likely is based on their actions. exertion is how many powerful moves, blocks or stunts your character has pulled. you may take any action against staff-spawned threats such as wild pokemon, gijinkas or anything of the like but remember that every time the staff posts, they will update the status of both what is going on and what your character's health looks like.
[break][break]
PVP battling does not award levels. since vendetta is in a place where people do not collect or train pokemon, it makes no sense for people to fight against each other until they faint for fun. if, for any reason, a player versus player battle seems what will be the likely outcome of a thread, members my approach it in anyway they want and may control their own health and fatigue, etc. everything within a PVP battle thread is up to decision of the participating members.[break][break]
however, members are free to request staff to moderate their thread if they wish to decide who would win the battle without prior plotting or if they feel it otherwise necessary. if any member is caught playing unfairly or if anyone is being treated unfairly, staff reserve the right to step in a take control of HP bars as it would be in a mission or a staff moderated PVP battle.[break][break]
using weapons is battle is fine as long as it is remembered that pokemon/gijinka moves will always be stronger than ordinary swords and guns. since everyone is a gijinka and gijinkas are as strong as pokemon, it is sort of awkward to use something like a sword, which is far less effective than just using moves. [break][break]
gijinka-effective/ pokemon-powered weaponry has been created by aqua, magma and even the government of hoenn. these weapons, however, must be bought at the shop.[break][break]
please abide by the proboards TOS and do not go into detail about gore or violence in a thread.
